At a Glance
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul was established in Central Florida in 1986 and follows a nearly 200-year tradition of charity work based upon the teachings of Jesus Christ. We are a Catholic Lay Organization of more than 800,000 men and women throughout the world who volunteer to provide person-to-person services to the needy and suffering. Membership in the United States totals nearly 100,000 volunteers within 4,400 U.S. communities.
As St. Vincent de Paul Orlando, our group includes 24 Conferences across the nine Central Florida Counties of the Orlando Catholic Diocese. These Conferences represent some 1,125 volunteer members. We proudly exist to help people by providing compassionate and spiritual support services such as:
· Home Visits
· Person-to-person support
· Food
· Medicine
· Job training/locating employment
· Transportation to meet fundamental needs/employment
· Financial assistance for housing and utilities
· Care for the elderly, infirm and disabled
· Disaster relief
· Emergency financial services
· St. Peter Claver Prison Ministry
· Access to our Thrift Stores to obtain basic items of clothing, household goods and furniture for individuals and families in need.
All services are provided with faith-filled principles and care. Our services are provided in the following counties: Orange, Seminole, Brevard, Polk, Lake, Osceola, Volusia, Marion and Sumter.
